Para mostrar una imagen
Quiero mostrar una imagen de la web a un panel en otro JFrame
con solo hacer clic en un botón. Cada vez que hago clic en el botón, primero se carga la imagen; y durante este tiempo, el formulario actual potencialmente se congela. Una vez cargada la imagen, se muestra el formulario con la imagen. ¿Cómo puedo evitar la situación en la que mi forma se congela ya que es muy irritante? Entre mis códigos:

Como se sugiere en el artículo Concurrencia en Swing , la consulta del controlador de botones puede estar bloqueando el hilo de envío de eventos. El uso javax.swing.SwingWorker
es un enfoque para cargar imágenes en segundo plano, mientras se muestra el progreso y se mantiene vivo el hilo de la GUI.
Anexo: Aquí hay un sscce que carga el logotipo de SO; se ha actualizado para manejar excepciones y cambiar el tamaño del contenedor adjunto para que se ajuste a la imagen cargada:
